Lumbini, located in southern Nepal, is the revered birthplace of Lord Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features the sacred Maya Devi Temple, marking the exact spot of Buddha’s birth, along with ancient monasteries, stupas, and the Ashoka Pillar. Lumbini is a significant pilgrimage site, attracting visitors from around the world seeking spiritual peace and connection.

Itinerary in brief

  • 9th March 2025: Transferred to Kathmandu Domestic Airport. Take a domestic flight from Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) to Gautam Buddha Airport (Bhairahawa). The flight takes about 30 minutes. From Gautam Buddha Airport, Lumbini is about 25–30-minute drive. At Lumbini, you will be staying at Lumbini Hotel Kasai, which is located inside the Maya Devi Garden, giving you the opportunity to stroll around the temple area in the evening if desired.
  • 10th March 2025: After breakfast, go for a guided tour to Maya Devi Temple, the Ashoka Pillar, and various monasteries built by Buddhist communities from around the world. On the second half of the day, delve deeper into the sacred sites within the Lumbini Development Zone, including the Sacred Garden, the Eternal Peace Flame, and the World Peace Pagoda
  • 11th March 2025: Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and proceed back to Kathmandu and transfer to International Airport for Departure.
